Award-winning Swiss filmmaker Peter Liechti talks about his film: The Sound of Insects - Portrait of a Mummy, which won EUROPEAN DOCUMENTARY FILM AWARD 2009, Prix ARTE and has been lauded by critics and audiences alike.
Inspired by a true event and by the novella 'Until I Am a Mummy' by Shimada Masahiko, the film is a hypnotic, mesmerising affirmation of life from one man's radical renunciation of it. Liechti is known for using experimental and impressionistic elements in his documentaries.
