Alan Berliner is an American filmmaker. Many of his films have been aired on PBS Public Broadcasting Service program P.O.V. and at film festivals worldwide. Selected retrospectives of his films have been presented at both the Museum of Modern Art and International Center of Photography in New York City.
The New York Times described Berliner's work as "powerful, compelling and bittersweet... full of juicy conflict and contradiction, innovative in their cinematic technique, unpredictable in their structures... Alan Berliner illustrates the power of fine art to transform life.
In 2012, Berliner completed a film about the late Edwin Honig, a poet and professor, who was a cousin of Berliner's. The film, First Cousin Once Removed, premiered at the New York Film Festival in October.

Victor Kossakovsky is a Russian filmmaker. He began his career in motion pictures at the Leningrad studio of Documentaries as assistant cameraman, assistant director and editor in 1978. In many of his films, Kossakovsky plays the role of editor, cinematographer, writer, and director. He has begun his own film production company in St. Petersburg Kossakovsky Film Production, with the objective of creating a cinema of poetics and reality.
Awards include the Special Jury Award at the IDFA for Pavel i Lyalya in 1999, the Documentary Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival for Sreda (Wednesday), and the True Vision Award at the 2012 True/False Film Festival.
Two different continents, two different film schools... Their films have explored all shades of human emotions. They are the wizards of the documentary world and anything may happen during their conversation!
