For ANU Tibetan convenor Chung Tsering, teaching his native language is more than an occupation; it's a "natural duty" that strengthens one of Asia's most vibrant and resilient minority cultures.
Tibetan is a language steeped in ancient civilisational roots and Buddhist traditions. At ANU, it is one of seven Asian languages taught in partnership with Open Universities Australia (OUA).
Students learn using an e-text that includes multimedia content and interactive activities. They also collaborate weekly in an online virtual classroom with Chung, a well-known author and translator.
