Dinith Adikari is no stranger to languages at The Australian National University, having studied Japanese and Indonesian during his Bachelor of Arts/Asia-Pacific Studies (Honours).
His interest in Myanmar was sparked while working at a Burmese restaurant. In 2015, Dinith visited the country and decided to study the language to deepen his understanding of its culture, history and society.
Currently undertaking his PhD at the School of Culture, History and Language at the ANU College of Asia and the Pacific, Dinith will return to Myanmar in 2019 and use his Burmese language skills to conduct fieldwork.
